Days of Service - Empowering Youth and the Community

Position: the Volunteer Center is hiring a Youth Service Coordinator to work out of our Olympia office on engaging youth and their families in days of service, in service learning projects and in leadership development. This is an Americorps Vista position that reports to the Director of Special Projects.
Responsibilities:
The Days of Service Coordinator – Empowering Youth and the Community will engage youth in service projects, develop service projects for days of service. They will focus on working with community partners and local schools to drive up the number of youth and families that are involved in community projects. The Volunteer Center is a team oriented staff, where we work collaboratively on many projects. In addition to working as part of the team, duties will include but not be limited to:
· Participation in planning meetings for days of service
· Event logistics for days of service
· Community partnership development to create service opportunities
· Recruitment of youth leaders for service learning projects
· Development of a Youth Summit in Mason County
· Event support and assistance
