Setting the standard: Community leaders charting the course for excellence in programing
President, Renee Pacana Mike Roberts is retired after a 30 year career with the state of Washington. He held a number of senior positions in finance, budgeting and management in both the Governor's budget office and in the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction. He was involved in public trust land management issues and alternative public works financing of public facilities. He is currently consulting on a selective basis and lives in Tumwater. Renee Pacana is currently the Business Manager for Raad Properties, a property ownership, management and development company. Prior to this, Renee spent 30 years in public service with the State of Washington.
Past President, Terry Kirkpatrick
Terry Kirkpatrick is a Past President of the Volunteer Center Board. He is active in his church, Olympia Kiwanis, Interfaith Works, and the Medical Reserve Corps. Terry also serves on the City of Tumwater Planning Commission.
Vice President, Wayne Gruen
Wayne Gruen is retired from the Washington State Department of Transportation. He spends his time in volunteer activities, including Co-Chairing the Thurston County CROP Walk, is a Past-President of Olympia Kiwanis, as Kiwanian does service projects in his community, chairs and serves on committees and groups at his church, and works at spoiling his grandchildren.
Treasurer, Mike Roberts
Russ Carstensen, a retired electronics engineer, is the former Executive Director of the National Association of Radio and Telecommunications Engineers and Engineering Group Vice President of SENTEL Corporation. He has served on several boards and committees in Thurston County. He is a former President of the Volunteer Center Board and served as acting Executive Director during transition.
Ann Bridges, the Intercity Transit Village Vans Coordinator, has recruited, trained and supervised volunteers for more than 20 years. She has volunteered at Bread and Roses, Thurston County Food Bank, Grays Harbor Domestic Violence Advocacy Services and United Way. Ann is former Executive Director of SafePlace and has participated as a Board of Director member of other non-profits. Village Vans provides a Customized Job Skills Training Program for volunteer drivers.
